THE HOUSE

A large open plan sitting room opens up to become an inside-outside house in the summer, while its solar gain, triple-glazed windows create a cosy, elemental experience in all weathers.

Its six bedrooms offer luxurious doubles or companionable twins. Four are are en-suite, and five have balconies that look over the meadow and offers a perfect spot for watching the night sky; there’s no light pollution around here. Catch the deer passing through at dawn and dusk.

The house is a vision of the future. One day, all homes will be under-floor heated by ground source (like ours) or air source, or renewables. The glass doors open fully to let the light flood in, but also capture the sunshine as solar gain, another win for the planet.
